Sure, your gym has the light and warmth and equipment to make your workout great, but first you\u2019ve got to get yourself there. Since you\u2019re the only one who can make that happen, you\u2019ll need to overcome your own internal resistance. These tips may help:<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Remove Small Barriers<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Having trouble getting ready and out the door in the morning? Take care of as much as you can the night before, when you\u2019re already on your feet and your mind is sharper. Pack your gym clothes, have your breakfast ready to go, and attend to those last-minute details you usually end up addressing just before you head out the door. For extra get-up-and-go, set the time-brew on your coffee maker and look into <a href=\"https:\/\/www.consumerreports.org\/car-maintenance\/how-to-add-remote-start-to-your-car\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">installing a remote starter<\/a> in your car.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Bring a Friend<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>You probably know more than a few people who want to work out but are having trouble getting it done. Offer them a ride, and a guest pass if your gym offers them. It\u2019s definitely more fun doing a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockwellness.org\/group-fitness-classes\/\">group fitness class<\/a> with a friend, too.<\/p>\n<p>No takers? No problem. Join a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockwellness.org\/programs-and-services\/small-group-training-programs\/\">small group training program<\/a> and meet new friends who are already into working out together.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Make a Plan and Track Your Progress<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you\u2019re the kind of person who responds strongly to personal goals, this one will really get you motivated. When you understand that you\u2019re progressing toward your fitness goals, you\u2019ll be motivated to keep those small victories coming. You can use an online app, like <a href=\"https:\/\/www.myfitnesspal.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">MyFitnessPal<\/a>, to keep track of your activities, calorie burn, and the like. Or look into a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hancockwellness.org\/programs-and-services\/personal-training\/\">personal trainer,<\/a> who can help you make a plan that\u2019s safe, effective, and fun\u2014then really hold you to it.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Reward Yourself<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>This one\u2019s tricky, because rewarding yourself carelessly can easily undo all the great impact you\u2019re having by being disciplined first thing in the morning. Whatever it is, you\u2019ve earned it\u2014don\u2019t reverse it.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Become a Night Owl<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>We almost forgot the easiest tip for beating those mid-winter, early-morning workout blues: Don\u2019t go to the gym in the morning. Go late instead.
