Lorsque les masses continentales se sont form\u00e9es pour la premi\u00e8re fois, le climat de la Terre \u00e9tait globalement plus chaud, cr\u00e9ant un v\u00e9ritable foyer d\u2019\u00e9mergence de toutes sortes d\u2019esp\u00e8ces v\u00e9g\u00e9tales et animales. Mais comme le climat change naturellement avec le temps, notre Terre a finalement commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 se refroidir et ce que nous appelons aujourd\u2019hui la p\u00e9riode glaciaire a commenc\u00e9. C\u2019est \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque que les glaciers, ou masses continentales g\u00e9antes constitu\u00e9es de glace, recouvraient de grandes parties du globe.  <\/p>\n<\/div>

Mais la \u00ab p\u00e9riode glaciaire \u00bb ne signifie pas que la terre enti\u00e8re \u00e9tait froide tout le temps. Au lieu de cela, le climat a bascul\u00e9 entre les p\u00e9riodes glaciaires et interglaciaires. Lorsque les glaciers \u00e9taient plus importants, ils se d\u00e9pla\u00e7aient autour des latitudes nord de la Terre, cr\u00e9ant diff\u00e9rentes masses terrestres telles que des vall\u00e9es, des formations rocheuses g\u00e9antes et des moraines. En revanche, pendant les p\u00e9riodes interglaciaires, le climat de la Terre \u00e9tait semblable \u00e0 celui d\u2019aujourd\u2019hui.
