by The DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes who died at 33 of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, an autoimmune disease. The Barnes Family was so grateful for the clinical skills, quick-thinking, and compassion of the nurses who cared for Patrick they created the international DAISY award to thank nurses recognizing associates who are in non-nursing roles. We pride ourselves on living our values everyday, but when our associates go above and beyond to provide patients and visitors with world-class care and compassion, it should be recognized.<\/p>\n<p>All award nominees receive a printed copy of their nomination along with a pin to commemorate their recognition.
